Translations are used to import drop definitions from specially formatted files (see also importing plates). That is, translations are used whenever crystallization data are imported into XtalBase. A translation recognizes a phrase (for instance 'sodium acetate') and offers translations to short names of existing stocks (like 'Na-acetate'). There can be multiple translations (stocks) for the same phrase, which for instance differ by their stock class.
If there are two translations for the same phrase, which are owned by the administratror and the user, respectively, then only the translation of the user is used for importing data

Fields in the translations table

Key	Database field	Header	Description
NUMID	NUMID	NUMID	The numerical id.
Owner	OWNER	Owner	The owner of this translation. Only the owner can edit or remove this translation.
Dat	DAT	Last update	The date on which this translation was last changed.
ID	ID	Original name	The ID for this translation.
Translation	TRANSLATION	Translate to	These are the stocks, which are equivalent to the original phrase in the formatted text file.
Share	SHARE	Shares	The Share field is used to give other users viewing or modifying rights for a certain object. Permissions can be given to specific users, to the group to which the object owner belongs to and to all users.
