Translations are used to import drop definitions from specially formatted files (see also importing plates). That is, translations are used whenever crystallization data are imported into XtalBase. A translation recognizes a phrase (for instance 'sodium acetate') and offers translations to short names of existing stocks (like 'Na-acetate'). There can be multiple translations (stocks) for the same phrase, which for instance differ by their stock class.
If there are two translations for the same phrase, which are owned by the administratror and the user, respectively, then only the translation of the user is used for importing dataview translations Fields in the translations table | Key | Database field | Header | Description |
